Hartal in Dumki upazila Thursday

PATUAKHALI: BNP-led 19-party alliance announced a dawn-to-dusk hartal at Dumki upazila in the district for Thursday protesting vote rigging, capturing polling centers and getting ousting their agents during re-voting.

Re-voting is underway in the five postponed centers amid boycott of 19-party alliance-backed chairman candidate Jamaat leader Mohammad Wahab Minar.

At a press conference in Dumki upazila BNP office, the 19-party alliance also boycotted the polls.

BNP district committee general secretary and other BNP-Jamaat leaders and activists were present at the conference.

Voting in five centers out of 21 was postponed at Dumki over vote rigging, held on March 23.
