JMB man arrested in Naogaon

RAJSHAHI : Police nabbed a suspected militant of banned Islamist outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen of Bangladesh (JMB) from Simulia village in Atrai upazila of Naogaon district Sunday noon.

The arrested is identified as Golam Rasul, 52, a close aide of slain JMB second in-command Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai.

Naogaon Sadar thana OC Aminur Rahman said that on information, police raided the house of Rasul at the village and arrested him at noon.

“He was wanted in a number of cases including of murder, extortion and kidnapping. He had been absconding since the arrest of Bangla Bhai,” Rahman said.
