CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Law enforcers in a night long drive nabbed 53 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir from various upazilas of the district between Thursday midnight and early Friday.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Jasim Uddin said that police in a drive held nine activists of BNP-Jamaat from the Sadar upazila on Thursday night.

Officer-in-Charge of Shibganj Thana Ashikur Rahman said, “Police detained 35 people from the Upazila.”

Gomastapur Thana Firoj Alam said that apprehending subversive act police detained five people from the upazila.

Besides, Nachole Thana Officer-in-Charge Sanaulla Haque and Bholahat Thana Officer-in-Charge SM Abu Farhat said police held four people from the two thana.
