DHAKA: Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal (JJD), youth wing of the opposition BNP will demonstrate across the country on August 24 and 25 to protest cancellation of release of Arafat Rahman Koko on parole.

As part of the programme, the JJD will demonstrate at district and thana headquarters on August 24 while on divisional headquarters on August 25 to press home their demand.

The programmes came from a rally as JJD President Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal announced it following a procession brought out by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of the opposition BNP.

JCD leaders and workers brought out the procession to protest the cancellation of parole release of Koko.

Police charged baton on the processionists at Naya Paltan area and arrested two from the spot. Police said the JCD did not have the permission for demonstration on the street.

The arrested were Juba Dal worker Motiur and Razzak, police said.

Arafat Rahman Koko is the youngest son of late President Ziaur Rahman and incumbent opposition leader Begum Khaleda Zia who was released on parole and taken abroad for treatment.
