Chittagong: By an unhappy stroke of luck, immediate-past mayor of Chittagong ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury even faced defeat in voting close to home in Thursday’s Chittagong City Corporation polls.

Banglanews24.com.bd correspondent from the port city informed that Mohiuddin polled 571 votes in his own poll centre at Sholakbahar Ahmadia Govt. Primary Scholl while his former deputy Manjurul Alam backed 666.

On the contrary, Manjur, who replaced Mohiuddin as mayor of the port city, secured win in his own centre at Uttar Kattali Hazi Daud Govt. primary school also.

He bagged 1,628 votes there while the thrice-elected CCC mayor, Mohiuddin, managed only 449.
