CHITTAGONG: Activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir attacked Kanchana police outpost under Satkania upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.

A police man received bullet injuries in Shibir firing during the attack.

Police source said Chases and counter-chases also took place between Jamaat-Shibir men and law enforcers in several places of the upazila since morning.

The hartal supporters, moreover, tried to block the road by putting barricade but failed for police intervention.

At one stage of violence, they attacked the outpost at around 12:00 noon, leaving a police man injured, said Satkania police station Sub-Inspector M Jakir Hossain.

Chittagong additional police super (South) Md Iltutmish to banglanews that the injured was rushed to a local clinic initially and later has been shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.”
