16 Shibir men sued in Rajshahi

DHAKA: Police filed a case against 16 Chhatra Shibir activists for their alleged involvement in attacking police with Boalia Thana on Saturday noon.

Sub Inspector of Boalia Thana Amirul Islam filed the case.

All the Shibir men were sent to jail in the afternoon and police sought a 7-day remand of the arrested.

Officer-in-Charge of Boalia Thana Ziaur Rahman Zia told banglanews: “Sub Inspector Abdur Razzak has been given responsibility to investigate into the matter.”

He also said: “We have sought for a 7-day remand of the arrested Shibir men and the remand hearing will be held on Sunday.”

On September 26, police arrested 16 Shibir men while holding a secret meeting at Tikapara Mohammadpur Jam-e-Masjid of the city.
