JESSORE: An activist of Chhatra League was chopped to death in an attack by activists of Juba Dal at Silpakala Academy of the district town on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Sabbir Hossain, 25, son of Abdul Jalil.

Witnesses said the victim went to Silpakala Academy to enjoy a cultural function at around 9:00pm.

During the time, Juba Dal cadre Billal and his followers locked into an altercation with Sabbir. At stage of altercation, they stabbed him discriminately, leaving critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where he was died under the treatment at around 12:00am.

Jessore Kotwali Model police station Sub-inspector Farid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
