FROM SYLHET: The mass rally of opposition BNP began with recitation from the verse of Holy Quran at Alia Madrasa ground around 12:00pm Saturday.

Organizing sources said that Khaleda Zia will join the rally at 2:00pm after offering Fateha at the shrine of Hazrat Shah Poran and Hazrat Shah Jalal.

She is scheduled to address the rally.

Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury among others are present on the stage.

Thousands of leaders and activists throng the rally venue ignoring rain and rough weather.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia reached at Sylhet Circuit House at 1:15am Saturday leaving Dhaka at 5:40pm Friday.

She will leave Sylhet for Dhaka at 7:00pm.

On the same demand, Khaleda addressed in four separate masss rallies in Narsingdi, Khulna, Rangpur and Rajshahi.
