AL upholds people’s faith: PM

DHAKA: Awami League president and also Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina claimed they upheld the faith people kept on her party while voted to power.

“We have changed the Constitution getting 2/3 votes in the parliament and have strengthened the parliamentary democracy,” she added.

She came up with the observation while addressing a view exchange meeting with AL-backed city mayor, uapzila chairmen, vice chairmen and municipality mayors at Gano Bhaban on Saturday afternoon.

Indicating the representatives of local government, Sheikh Hasina said, “There will be no poor man in the country if we work in a bid to serve countrymen. None would have to stay in hut.”

“We should not think what we got, what not; rather should work for the people who voted us to power,” the AL president added.

She also said that electricity will be given to every house next and district-wary budget will be formulated.

The meeting was attended, among others, by PM’s Public Administration affairs advisor HT Imam, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofayel Ahmed, Abdul Latif Siddique.
