AL-BNP clash kills 1 in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR: A BNP activist was killed and seven others injured in a clashes with Awami League activists in Shaharpara village under Ramganj upazila of the district on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Faridul Islam Farid, 27, a local Juba League activist, son of Shaheed Ullah.

Locals said that there was a land dispute between BNP supporter Maulana Masud Alam and Awami league supporter Shaheed Ullah of the village.

Following the dispute, their supporters locked into a clash, leaving him dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter Ramganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Manjurul Islam Akhand told banglanews, “The situation is under control now.”

Additional police forces were deployed in the area, he added.
