DHAKA: Two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir were held while attempting to set fire at Awami League’s Gulshan unit office in capital’s Shahjadpur area on Thursday morning.

Police sources said that about 20 to 25 Jamaat-Shibir men brought out a procession at around 6:30 am and tried to torch AL office pouring petrol and blasted three to four cocktails.

Assistant Commissioner of police of Gulshan zone Noor-E-Alam told banglanews that at one stage of the violent attempt, police foiled the effort and dispersed them using tear shells and nabbed 2 of them from the spot.
