2 killed, 25 injured in Chandpur clash

CHANDPUR: Two people were killed and 25 others were injured including three cops and a journalist in a triangular clash near bus-stand area under Faridganj Upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Sharif Hossain, 30, a Juba Dal activist and Arif, 24, son of M Abdul Ali residents of the Upazila.

Police sources said that the clash triggered while leaders-activists of BNP and Awami League gathered in Faridganj Bazar area and were barricaded by police at around 4:45pm, leaving around 25 people including cops and journalist.

The injured were rushed to Upazila Health Complex where two of the injured succumbed to their injuries.
