ISWARDI, PABNA: An activist of Jamaat-e-Islami was killed in a clash among BNP-Jamaat men and Juba League-Chhatra League men in Muladuli area under Iswardi upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Julhas Uddin Munnaf, 35.

Witnesses said leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and BNP brought out a procession in the area at around 11:00am and at the same time Juba League and Chhatra League men took position on the road.

When the pro-hartal procession reached there, a fierce clash ensued between them, leaving one dead and injured 10 others.
 
Iswardi circle ASP Shahnur Alam Patwari confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The 60-hour nonstop nationwide hartal, called by the BNP-led 18-party alliance, is underway on Sunday morning amid stray incidents of violence.
