BNP-AL clash injures 20 in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ: At least 20 people were injured in a clash between Juba League and BNP activists on Dhaka-Mawa highway in Nimtala area of Sirajdikhan of the district on Sunday morning.

Sources said that BNP activists brought out a rally led by Upazila BNP general secretary at around 08:00am in the area.

Besides, another rally led by Upazila Juba League president Rakibul was brought out at around 09:00am and both rally locked into clash as they met in Nimtala area, leaving 20 people injured including two police men.

Meanwhile, police fired bullets and tear shells to bring the situation under control.

The injured were sent to local hospitals and clinic.

Later, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 personnel rushed to the spot and dispersed the rally.

Sirajdikhan Thana Officer-in-Charge Abul Basar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
