Bashundhara Kings beat Navy Football Club

Bashundhara Kings got off to a winning start in the new domestic season as they outclassed Navy Football Club by 6-0 goals in their first Group D match of the ongoing Independence Cup at the Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamlapur on Tuesday.
 
Former Bosnian national player Stojan Vranjes scored a brace in his debut match for Kings while their Brazilian midfielder Jonathan Fernandes, substitute forward Eleta Kingsley and Brazilian forward Robson Robinho netted one each for the winning side.
 
Navy defender Habibur Rahman scored an own goal that helped Kings complete a big win over their opponents.
 
Stojan netted the first goal with a header utilizing a cross from Brazilian midfielder Jonathan Fernandes in the 41st minute before Jonathan scored the second goal in the 43rd minute.
 
Stojan then scored his second and team’s third goal off a long cross from midfielder Md Ibrahim in the 68th minute while Eleta, who replaced midfielder Md Ibrahim, netted in the 79th minute.
 
After the stipulated 90-minute, Robinho netted the fifth goal in the 91st minute before Navy defender Habibur struck the suicidal goal just a few seconds before the final whistle in the 92nd minute.
 
Kings will play their next match against Police Football Club on December 4 at the same venue.  
 
Meanwhile, Chattogram Abahoni Limited was held to a 1-1 draw by Police Football Club in the first Group D match at the same venue on the same day.
 
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd will play Uttar Baridhara Club and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will take on against Air Force Football Team in their respective Group B matches today at the same venue.
