BAN vs ENG: Bangladesh win toss, send England to bat first

Bangladesh won the toss and asked England to bat first in the second game of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

The Tigers came into the ongoing series having won their previous seven ODI series at home but they suffered a huge setback when they lost the opening match to England by three wickets after Dawid Malan smashed a spectacular unbeaten hundred to help the tourists earn the narrow win.

Bangladesh’s last home ODI series defeat came against England in 2016 and interestingly, they are on the verge of conceding another series defeat against the same opposition with whom they were unable to win any ODI series to date.

Bangladesh’s poor batting performance was one of the big reasons for losing the series opener and they will be desperately looking to change the scenario in the second game.

England previously played four ODI series (three in Bangladesh and one on home soil) against Bangladesh and won all of them and they now have the chance to continue their winning streak against the Tigers in this format.
