Unstoppable Bangladesh winning the rain curtailed 2nd T20 International by 77 runs wrapped up the three matches T20I series. They are well set now for yet another series whitewash.

Yesterday rain came immediately after the toss and continued for a while. The match was shortened to 17 overs a side. Ireland winning the toss put Bangladesh to bat. Flamboyant Bangladesh opening pair Litton Das (83) and Rony Talukdar (44) ran riot in their milestone setting opening partnership of 124 in 9.2 overs. Ireland bowlers were belted all over the park. Litton scored the quickest 50 as well in the process. His 41 ball 83 comprised off 10 boundaries and 3 sixes. Rony matched his partner strokes for strokes in his 23 balls 44. Irish bowling was treated with disdain through the merciless power hitting. Shakib with his unbeaten 24 balls unbeaten 38 and young Towhid Hridoy 13 balls 24 kept up the tempo facilitating Bangladesh scoring over 200 runs in consecutive T20 matches. Irish captain could do nothing to stem the flow of runs. They were bruised, battered and avalanched.
Responding to Bangladesh mammoth score Irish batsmen encountered world’s best allrounder Shakib at his brilliant best. On a dry turning surface Shakib turned the ball and had his lethal arm balls going. His 5/22 was complemented by impressive Taskin 3/27 as Ireland could manage only 125/9 in 17 overs. Only Curtis Campher coming to bat at number 7 could provide some resistance scoring 50 in 30 deliveries. Bangladesh won the match by huge 77 runs margin and wrapped up the series 2-0.
Shakib Al Hasan taking his tally 136 wickets is now the highest wicket taker in T20 cricket. He is the only cricketer ever scoring over 2000 runs and taking more than 100 wickets in all three formats of the game. Sky is his limit now. He is showing what a brilliant captain he also is. Kolkata Knight Riders will definitely benefit from the brilliant form of Shakib in IPL 2023.
