Bangladesh will be looking to go up in the series when they face Ireland in the second match of the three-match one-day international series at the Cloud County Ground in Chelmsford, England today.
The match is scheduled to start at 03:45 pm (BST) and will be telecast live on ICC.tv.
The opening match of the series earlier ended without a result due to rain at the same venue on Tuesday.
Ireland reached 65-3 in 16.3 overs replying to Bangladesh’s 246-9 before the rain came into the play and the match couldn’t get resumed again.
Ahead of the second match, Bangladesh completed a training session at the match venue on Thursday and pacer Shoriful Islam claimed that they would go into the game only to win.
“We definitely play to win the match. We have no other plan. We want to follow our basics and give our best on the field,” Shoriful told reporters in Chelmsford.
As like the opening match, there is rain forecast for today’s encounter between Bangladesh and Ireland and the match also can face a similar fate as in the opening match.
“See, this’s not in our hands, it’s beyond our capacity,” Shoriful said about the rain projection.
Meanwhile, Ireland, who have already lost the chance of a direct World Cup qualification after the first match washed out, will be hoping to win the remaining two matches of the series to boost their confidence ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualification round.
“Winning the series will be a huge confidence booster but we will have to play very good cricket,” Ireland skipper Andrew Balbirnie said.
