Bangladesh recorded history during the one-off Test against Afghanistan by registering the largest margin win against the visitors at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur today (June 17).

Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 546 runs which is also the third-highest margin win over any team in the history of Test cricket and the biggest in the last 89 years in the format.

The host out Afghanistan for 115 runs in the first session on day four of the Test.

Chasing a mammoth 661 runs, Afghanistan, who started the fourth day on 45 for two, could add only 70 runs to their overnight total as the Bangladesh pacers turned up the heat.

Taskin Ahmed scalped four wickets, while Shoriful Islam picked up three.

Bangladesh earlier declared their innings on 425-4, setting a record target of 662 runs with Mominul Haque's 121 and Najmul Hossain Shanto's 124.

Mominul registered his 12th Test century and Shanto became the second Bangladeshi batter to score back-to-back Test hundreds. He smashed 146 in the first innings and 124 in the second.

Bangladesh scored 382 runs in the first innings and bowled out Afghanistan for 146.
