Bangladesh Women clinches historic first ODI win over India 

Bangladesh women’s team wrote history by beating their Indian counterparts first ever in One-Day International (ODI) by 40 runs (DLS) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.

Asked to chase a target of 153 in 44 overs, the visitors were bowled out for 113 in 35.5 overs. 

Earlier, a four-wicket haul by debutant Amanjot Kaur helped India restrict Bangladesh to 152/9 in 43 overs, in the rain-curtailed first ODI match. 

The match has been reduced to 44 overs per-side due to rain. For Bangladesh, skipper Nigar Sultana scored 39 while Hoque Fargana scored 27.

Shorna Akhter was retired out and did not come out to bat. For India, Amanjot took four wickets while Devika Vaidya and Deepti Sharma took two and one wicket respectively. 

Marufa picked up four wickets while Rabeya Khan three wickets as the Tigresses successfully defended 153 runs.

India captain Harmanpreet won the toss and opted to bat first.
