Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim and his wife Jannatul Kifayet Mondi have been blessed with a baby girl.

Mushfiq gave the information through social media. He wrote on Facebook, "Assalamu Alaikum... Allah has blessed us with a daughter. Both mother and daughter are in good health. Please keep us in your prayers."

Mushfiq got married to Jannatul Kifayat Mondi on September 25, 2014. After almost three years of marriage, they welcomed their first child, a son.

In order to be with his wife and child, Mushfiq returned to Bangladesh after the conclusion of the Super Four match of the 2018 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka on September 9. 

Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of the Tigers, also returned with him. 
Bangladesh will play their next match against India on September 15. Mushfiq and Shakib will return to join the squad on September 13.
