India thrashed Pakistan by 228 runs in the super 4 Asia Cup 2023 match in Colombo on September 11. The match was continued on the reserve day due to rains on September 10.

Chasing a stiff target of 357, Indian bowlers led by Bumrah, Pandya and Kuldeep troubled Pakistani batsmen. Bumrah, Pandya and Shardul Thakur struck early to put Pakistan on the backfoot.

Then Kuldeep took over and hurried Indian win with a five-wicket haul. Kuldeep finished at 5 for 25. Pakistan finished at 128 for 8 as Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah did not come to bat due to injuries. Fakhar Zaman (27), Agha Salman (23) and Iftikhar Ahmed (23) were the main scorers for Pakistan.

Earlier, riding on Virat Kohli and K.L. Rahul’s centuries and Shubhman Gill and Rohit Sharma half-centuries, India finished at 356 for 2.
