Awesome Australia gaining momentum in their mission CWC 2023 teased, tormented, and humiliated Netherlands winning by 309 runs on Wednesday (October 25) at New Delhi. Batting first, they scored 399/8 and then crushed Netherlands to 90 all out, the lowest score in CWC 2023.

As the tournament is going deeper five-time champions are coming to their own. In a long-distance race champion sprinters gather momentum towards the final leg. Exactly that happened yesterday at Arun Jaitley Stadium New Delhi. Australia ruthlessly punishing Dutchmen scored sky scrapper 399/8 batting first. That was followed by all around probing and penetrating Australian bowling crashing Netherlands for 90 all out in only 21 Overs. Australia recorded the largest win of the tournament so far by 300 runs. They advanced one step closer for sealing a spot among the top four. Netherlands appears to have lost their steam proving no match to their vastly stronger opponents.

Australians were not looking at their own at the initial stage of the tournament easily going down to India and South Africa. But ardent cricket followers always had faith in the ability of the five times champions. Australia stared recovering their winning way from their third match against Sri Lanka. By their 4th match against Pakistan Australia looked like the champions of the past. Yesterday they gained the massive win. At this momentum Australia looks set for qualifying for the business session, the knockout round.

The only brief period Netherlands looked to create any contest was at the start of the Australian innings when Mitchell Marsh wicket was picked up early with only 28 runs on board. Champion Warriors David Warner (104) and Steve Smith (71) then producing 132 for the 2nd wicket partnership set the solid foundation batting in their own merry ways. Warner and Labuschagne (62) then added another 84 for the 3rd Wicket. Such a solid platform encouraged flamboyant Glen Maxwell unleashing savage killer punch to Dutchmen. His 44 balls 104 punctuated with 9 fours and 8 sixes badly bruised and battered Netherlands. Australia scored 399/8 in allotted overs.

On a day when everything went according to the plans, Australian bowling also clicked. Dutchmen failed to read the mysteries of Adam Zampa. His 4/8 led to Netherland innings crumbling to the lowest total 90 of the tournament. Mitchell Marsh (2/19), Pat Cummins (1/14), Mitchell Starc (1/22) and Jos Hazlewood (1/27) also made some contributions. As the tournament started going deeper Australians have started galloping in the race towards the semifinals. Netherlands not used to play so many matches against formidable oppositions in such a short time appeared to have lost steam. Only opener Vikramjit Singh scoring 25 gave some resistance. Australia recorded the largest win (309 Runs) of the tournament. Glen Maxwell for his explosive innings of 104 in 44 balls was adjudged the player of the match.
