Miscreants torched a passenger bus at Gulistan's Zero point area in the capital today (December 19), during a daylong hartal across the country, called by BNP and like-minded opposition parties.

The incident took place at around 1pm in front of General Post office (GPO) in the area.

Fire Service Headquarters Media Cell Officer Anwarul Islam Dolan confirmed the matter.

Being informed, according to him, two fire firefighting units were sent to the spot to douse the blaze.

No casualties were reported yet in this regard, he added.
