Former Bangladesh women's team footballer Razia Khatun died following childbirth complications at her Satkhira residence.

The 23-year-old Razia breathed her last at 4 am due to excessive bleeding after childbirth, said a Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) press release.

In a message of condolence, BFF president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin, its senior vice president, vice presidents, all executive members, general secretary, standing committee and officials and employees of the BFF expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Razia.

They also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
