Bangladesh dominate Pakistan batters once again

Bangladesh once again dominated the Pakistan batters as they took five of the hosts’ scalps for 183 at Tea on day two of the ongoing second Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

After Abdullah Shafique was bowled out by Taskin Ahmed in the first over, skipper Shan Masood and opener Saim Ayub built up a flamboyant partnership. Both the players made half-centuries but soon they fell with a couple of more wickets that included former captain Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel.

Masood was routed by Mehidy Hasan on 57 while Ayub got stumped at 58.

Mohammad Rizwan (18*) and Salman Ali Agha (0*) are on the crease.

After tea break, third session will be played from 3:15pm to 5:15pm, then the game could be extended by half an hour to complete the day's overs.

Spinner Abrar Ahmed and left-arm medium pacer Mir Hamza have replaced fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has been released to spend time with his family.

Whereas, Bangladesh brought Taskin in and rested Shoriful Islam.

It should be noted that the first day of the Test was washed out without even a toss.

The 12-member Pakistan squad for the second Test match against Bangladesh includes captain Masood, Ayub, Shafique, Azam, Shakeel, Rizwan, Agha, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shahzad, Abrar, Hamza and Muhammad Ali.

Bangladesh XI are Shadman Islam, Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Mominul Islam, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana

The head coach of the Bangladesh cricket team, Chandika Hathurusingha on Friday said that it was not easy to defeat Pakistan at their home ground. However, he said, the morale of The Tigers was high after the victory against the hosts.
