Bashundhara Kings Football Academy kicks off

The Bashundhara Kings Football Academy officially launched its non-residential professional training program at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka on Saturday.

Kings President Md Imrul Hassan, speaking at the inauguration at Bashundhara Kings Arena, announced plans to transition the academy into a full-fledged residential facility within the next six months to a year due to overwhelming demand.

"This is just the beginning. While it's currently non-residential, we are committed to making it a residential academy soon, as we’ve received significant interest in such a facility," Hassan said.

He also expressed hope that players from the academy would progress to the Bashundhara Kings' main team. "We aim to provide free training to the most talented players and keep them in the academy for long-term development," he added.

The academy will initially train three age groups: 6-11 (boys and girls), 11-15 (boys), and 15-18 (boys). Sessions will take place three days a week on the fields of the Bashundhara Sports Complex, under the guidance of the Kings’ experienced coaching staff. Head coach Valeriu Tita is also expected to conduct sessions with the young talents.

Hassan further revealed plans for a talent hunt across eight divisional cities, aimed at finding and nurturing promising footballers. "The selected players will receive full free training and, once the academy becomes residential, they will also be provided accommodation," he concluded.
