Seminar held on e-payment Solutions

DHAKA: CTO Forum Bangladesh in association with SAVRONIK Inc. organized a seminar on “E-payment Solutions: Issues and Best Practices” at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel in the capital recently. 

Turkish Ambassador to Dhaka Hüseyin MÜFTÜOĞLU, additional secretary, ICT Division of Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Dasgupta Asim Kumar and Dr. Cem Ulger, Savronik Inc. were present in the occasion. 

President of CTO Forum Bangladesh Tapan Kanti Sarkar presided over the seminar.

Sarkar in his welcome speech mentioned that we are here in seminar on E-payment Solutions: Issues and Best Practices with a view to facilitate Bangladesh’s top level IT executives with a unique opportunity to interact with innovative global solution providers, with whom we can be an innovative partner to develop our IT fields. 

This is because in the recent decades we have suffered in preparation of skilled workforce to accelerate the competitiveness in response to rapid technological change and increasing global competition. He assured that CTO Forum Bangladesh will organize this type of networking event in future also.

Hüseyin MÜFTÜOĞLU, Ambassador, Turkish Embassy, Dhaka thanked to CTO Forum and Savonik Inc. for inviting him in this prestigious event. He hopes that more Turkish company will invest in different sectors in Bangladesh particularly in IT Sector.

Kamal Uddin Ahmed mentioned that present Government has taken all necessary initiatives to achieve “Digital Bangladesh” by 2021. Government introduced ICT related different acts, policies, Certification Authority etc. Government is also providing necessary infrastructural support and funding to develop ICT skilled manpower and boost freelancing. He thanked CTO Forum and SAVRONIK to organize this event.

Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Dasgupta Asim Kumar, discussed different ePayment aspects and initiatives taken by Bangladesh Bank including National Payment Switch to encourage e-payment systems. 

He informed that Bangladesh Bank is going to implement Real time Gross Settlement (RTGS) soon. He thanked CTO Forum for organizing such knowledge driven event. This event will help to reduce gap between Bangladesh Bank & all IT communities. 

Dr. Cem Ulger, Savronik Inc., a Turkish System Integrator and Solution Provider was present Keynote paper in this occasion. He discussed RTGS, Payment System, Cloud Computing, Mobile Solutions, GIS etc. All the participants and the resource persons enjoyed the opportunities to share their experiences.
