DHAKA: For many years Apple rolled out small sized smartphones while competitor brands like Samsung, Sony and LG continuously launched smartphones with larger displays.

Moreover, in this year, Apple finally launched not one but two large sized smartphones, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus phablet.

But, fresh rumors indicate that Apple will again resort to launching a 4-inch iPhone in the coming year.

According to a report, published on ibtimes.com, the previously released iPhone models like iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C came with 4-inch display and the iPhone 4S is equipped with 3.5-inch display. Such small-sized handsets allow users to operate them with one hand.

Even though the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus comes with bigger screen, the Reachability feature can be used to use them with single hand, the report added.

However, it is not a convenient solution, states GforGames.

According to MacRumors, the speculations coming from supply chains indicate that a 4-inch iPhone may arrive in the second half of the upcoming year. It goes on to claim that by launching a smaller iPhone, Apple aims to target female audience.

In 2015, Apple will also continue to sell the iPhone 5S which features a 4-inch screen with a lowered price tag whereas the iPhone 5C production will be discontinued next year. PhoneArena claims that the probable reason behind stalling the production of the handset is it is one of the least iPhone model at present.

As of now, Apple has not confirmed about releasing a 4-inch iPhone in 2015. Hence, we will wait to until additional information emerges in the near future.

Even though Apple hasn't release a 4-inch handset this year, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus have managed to record outstanding sales. As of now, the iPhone 6 is more popular and selling faster than the iPhone 6 Plus but the latter is doing quite well in the phablet market, states MacRumors.
