Cell phone users reach nearly 122m in Jan

DHAKA: The total number of country’s mobile phone subscribers reached nearly 122 million at the end of January with addition of 1.514 million new users in the first month of the year, statistics of the country's telecom regulator showed Tuesday.

According to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) data, the number of subscribers in the country reached 121.860 million in January, reports globalpost.com.

The BTRC data showed that the number of subscribers of the mobile operators, Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi Axiata, Citycell, Teletalk and Airtel, at the end of January stood at 51.549 million, 31.145 million, 26.283 million, 1.276 million, 3.890 million and 7.716 million respectively.

The total number of country's mobile phone subscribers reached nearly 120.350 million at the end of December 2014, showed the BTRC data.
