DHAKA: CTO Forum Bangladesh and BIBM in association with Visa organized a seminar on IT security in city on Thursday.

The seminar titled ‘IT Security and Fraud Detection – Securing the Digital Payments in Bangladesh’ was held on BIBM premises.

The seminar was inaugurated by Nazneen Sultana, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Dr Toufic Ahmad Choudhury, Director General, BIBM as special guest.

Tapan Kanti Sarkar, President, CTO Forum delivered the welcome speech and Shivakumar Sriraman, Chief Risk Officer, India and South Asia, Visa presented keynote presentation on Securing Payments and Maintaining Trust in Digital Age.

Amitoj Sawhney, Associate Director – South Asia, Visa also participated in the seminar.

Addressing the audience Nazneen Sultana, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank said, ‘Online commerce is expanding across the world and it is very impressive that the same trend is seen in Bangladesh’.

SM Mainuddin Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director, South East Bank Ltd, Nawed Iqbal, Vice President, CTO Forum Bangladesh, Dr Ijazul Haque, Secretary General, CTO Forum Bangladesh and Mahbubur Rahman Alam, Associate Professor, BIBM attended an interactive panel discussion on various security issues.

The panelist concluded the discussion by mutually agreeing that payments need to be frictionless and secured across all channels including ecommerce.

According to them, it is important and vital to ensure that there is a comprehensive, context-based, real-time fraud detection system.

Head of IT & Head of Cards from different Banks, Bangladesh Bank officials, CTO Forum Members, BIBM faculties, Senior functionaries of Visa, Press and Media representative also participated the seminar.
