DHAKA: Internet connection was restored after over one hour of disruption on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) announced the shutting down of Facebook, viber and whatsapp.

The internet connection later went down.

However, the aforesaid social media were found unavailable some hours after the announcement of the final verdicts of BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid.

Moreover, internet services were also got down from around 1:15pm disturbing internet connection across the country and got restored after over an hour.
