KHAGRACHHARI: Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said Facebook was blocked for sake of country’s safety.

Dialogue with Facebook authorities was held. Facebook will be reopened soon after consulting with country’s law enforcement agencies, he added.

The minister came up with the assertion on Tuesday (December 8) to the media after laying foundation stone of Ramgarh Thana building in Khagrachari district.

Responding to the media regarding Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), he answered, “RAB personnel will be deployed in Chittagong Hill Tracts area whenever it is necessary”.

Kujendra Lal Tripura MP, Khagrachari Hill Tracts district council chairman Kangjuri Chowdhuri, Chittagong range police deputy inspector general (DIG) Shafiqul Islam, Khagrachhari deputy commissioner (DC) Mohammad Wahiduzzaman and police super (SP) Mohammad Mazid Ali, among others, were present at the event.
