‘Phone users to be paid for call-drops’ Tarana Halim

DHAKA: Posts and Telecommunications state minister Tarana Halim stated that mobile phone subscribers will get one minute talk time as compensation for every call-drop.

Tarana Halim, now visiting Malaysia and Singapore, posted this message on her official Facebook page on Friday (22 January).

In her facebook post, she wrote that customers would get one (01) minute talk time as a compensation for every call drop.

Before going to Singapore, at a press conference arranged by the Posts and Telecommunications Department on the occasion of second anniversary of this government on January 6, Tarana Halim asserted that the compensation process for call drops will be implement this year.

On Facebook, she wrote that the main aspiration of the Posts and Telecommunications department is the absolute satisfaction of the subscribers.

Consequently, a meeting was held with the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of country’s all mobile operators. In the meeting, the operators have been put on a deadline to improve their network quality and customer service.

In addition, Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has also been instructed to take an effective decision regarding the call-drops.
