GP to provide free Wi-Fi at universities

DHAKA: Grameenphone (GP), the leading mobile operator in Bangladesh, will provide free Wi-Fi service for its users on several university campuses in Dhaka and Chittagong to ensure ceaseless internet facilities to students.

Students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Stamford University, United International University (UIU) in Dhaka and BGC Trust University in Chittagong will get the service, said a press release on Wednesday (January 27).

The subscribers of Grameenphone will get highest 1MBPS internet speed, the release added.

It also said Aamra Networks Limited will provide the technical support.

The release also said Grameenphone was providing the service under their campaign ‘Internet for All’ as the learners need access to information for greater knowledge in this age of globalization and digitalization.
