Electric Asset Register launched

DHAKA: Electric Asset Register has been inaugurated aiming to make all information of disaster management and relief ministry available.

Disaster management and relief minister Mofazzel Hossian Chowdhury Maya inaugurated the software at the District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer (DRRO) Convention-2016 at CIRDAP auditorium in city on Thursday (January 28).

Disaster management and relief ministry and Disaster Management Department arranged the convention and Electric Asset Register inaugural ceremony.

Through the register, activities of district-level officials of relief and rehabilitation department will be monitored, the minister said.

The electric register has been introduced to make the disaster management and relief ministry more dynamic, he told district relief and rehabilitation officials adding, “We can give guidance, but no fruitful results will be achieved if you do not implement them”.

According to Maya, many of district officials do not visit upazilas regularly and do not update the state of the upazilas. “Through the new register, the center will look after your activities. All will come to know about their respective works and visiting places”.

Through the software, information regarding all sorts of ministry activities including its income and expenditure from the grassroots to all over the country will be preserved. By visiting the ministry website, anyone from any corner of the world can learn about the ministry activities in any area.

The inaugural ceremony was followed by a national workshop titling ‘multi-hazard risk and vulnerability assessment, modeling and mapping’ (MRVAM).

Disaster management and relief secretary M Shah Kamal was present at the event, with Disaster Management Department director general M Riaz Ahmed in the chair.
