Robi customers’ better experience with Ericsson 3G

DHAKA: Robi, the second largest operator in Bangladesh, has noted significant improvements in both voice and data user experience following the implementation of Ericsson’s 3G Flow of Users in its network.

Without adding equipment, Robi’s country-wide is now able to carry 5 percent more voice calls, while users enjoy 13 percent lower dropped call rate. Uplink throughput has improved by 10 percent for smartphone users, said a press release.

Sharing his experience of working with the advanced telecom technology, Robi’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) AKM Morshed said “We are dedicated to providing the best customer experience. We are happy with the improved use of network resources we get from Ericsson 3G Flow of Users and our customers are happier.”

Ericsson Bangladesh CTO Abdus Salam said “Ericsson is dedicated to help provide mobile broadband for everyone, and 3G Flow of Users help do this by supporting coverage growth.”

As smartphone use in Bangladesh has increased, 3G networks have been hard-pressed to deliver the quality experience the devices are capable of. Ericsson’s Flow of Users solves this matter by serving connected users as efficiently as possible, while minimizing their connection time.

Ericsson 3G Flow of Users allows operators to maintain an optimal flow of smartphone users through their 3G network. It uses a defined selection of software features and settings to automatically balance active user count and customer experience.

As a result, Robi is now able to maximize smartphone user experience, even during busy traffic-load conditions, while ensuring high-quality voice services.
