IU student invents ‘Object Picking Robot’ The inventor Sajib with his robot

IU: An engineering student of Islamic University has invented a remote controlled ‘Object Picking Robot’.

The inventor, Sajib Saha, 2011-12 batch student of IU Electrical and Electric Engineering Department, made the disclosureon Tuesday (August 7).

The robot can be controlled using an android-based app to pickup objects from remote inaccessible places.

Sajib Saha told reporters, “Any objects can be sent and pickup by the robot in places that are inaccessible or risky for human. An operator can control many of such robots though an android app.”

The machine was created using Arduino uno software, 4 TDC motors, 4 wheel chassis, 4 H-bridge (Motor Speed Controller L-1298N) Servo motors, Bluetooth module (HC-5). The robot can be controlled by within 50 meters using a smart phone.

A mechanical hand is also attached with the robot to rotate any object by 180 degree angle to the left. Moreover, Wifi module can also be used in it as per need which will eventually increase the remote control radius of the machine.
