CodersTrust creates ICT possibilities for returned jobless expats Speakers join the inauguration of the training program virtually held on Sunday

Hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshi expatriates, who either have returned home after losing their jobs in abroad or have failed to go back to their workplaces due to Covid-19 pandemic, are now eyeing on a new opportunity in the field of information and communication technology-ICT here in Bangladesh.

CodersTrust, Bangladesh, a leading ICT training provider in the country, in partnership with the Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Employment, has extended this opportunity for the returned jobless expatriates.

With this training the unemployed expatriates will either be able to find new jobs, or be able to earn through freelancing and they will also have scopes to open up their own ventures to create job for others, speakers said at the inaugural of the training program virtually held on Sunday (October 4).

Over all this will open a new window of possibilities for those jobless peoples, speakers opined and lauded CodersTrust, Bangladesh in a webinar organized on the occasion of the inaugural of the training.

“What we saw as a crisis at early stage are presently seen as an opportunity, and CodersTrust has illuminated the process,” Ahmed Munirus Salehin, secretary for expatriates welfare told in his speech as chief guest in the program.  He thanked CodersTrust and declared an inauguration of the training which, according to the secretary, was considered as a pilot program. On the basis of the success, the program will be further extended, he said.

Under the present program CodersTrust will train 140 returned expatriates in four batches. Each of the batches will be consisted of 35 participants and they will get a four-day online training from experienced trainers of CT.

I have every confident on CodersTrust’s training and hope they will bring all successes, said Mr. Munirus Salehin.

Aziz Ahmad, co-founder of CodersTrust and CEO of UTC Associates joined the program from his home in New Jersey, USA. “Successes will be depending on the seriousness of the trainees. We have created small opportunity for them, but they will have to explore it by themselves,” he said.

This program has been initiated out of some sentiments that I gathered inside me. Because I met many of our expatriate friends when I visited over four dozens of countries across the world and saw their enthusiasm in earning money and sending those to home. But now due to Covid-19 they have fallen into danger, and we should do something for them. And thus, CodersTrust has taken this training program, Aziz Ahmad added.

He urged all the participants to take the courses with due attentiveness and passions.

Abdul Karim, Former principal secretary of the Prime Minister’s office, Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, former education and ICT secretary, Mojibul Haque, additional secretary of the ICT division spoke as special guests.

Skill is power, and I believe the ICT skills through this training will make the participants more capable in finding jobs locally and will be able to contribute to country’s economy once again, said Abdul Karim.

NI Khan stressed on entrepreneurship and said, I believe through this training the returned expatriates will be keen in opening their own ventures. For this they will need to understand management, marketing etc. and some small scale trainings might help them, he added.

Government alone can’t do everything, we need supports from private sectors and CodersTrust has come forward. We are very much thankful for that, said Mojibul Haque.

CT advisor Brigadier General (retd) Abdul Halim detailed the selection process of the trainees for the present training and expressed his hope that following the trainings the participants will not only be able to find their jobs, they will be able to create jobs for others.

In his closing remarks Aziz Ahmad once again stress on the passion and attentiveness of the trainees.  One small training can make a big change, he said. Your success is our success, Mr. Ahmad added.

Immediately after the inaugural the classes of first batch started online.
