DHAKA: Market monitoring teams of Commerce Ministry on Thursday fined 14 businessmen of three city markets for price fixing of essential commodities.

The price monitoring drive led by deputy secretary of Commerce Ministry Shahidul Islam, deputy secretary Md. Enamul Haque Enna and deputy secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam raided Khilgaon bazar, Tilapara bazar and the kitchen market of Gulshan-1 and realised a total of Tk 95,000.

Executive magistrate of Dhaka district administration Md Jasim Uddin and Khadeja Tahira Bobby along with policemen accompanied the monitoring team.
