The High Court on Tuesday (December 10) granted three months' ad-interm bail to actress Shomi Kaiser, also former president of the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB), in an attempted murder case.

The HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain issued the bail order today.

Earlier, Shomi submitted a petition seeking bail in the case.

Police arrested Shomi from a residence in Uttara, in the capital on November 5. 

Later, a Dhaka court sent her to jail on November 9, after her remand ended.

Earlier on September 29, Ishtiak Mahmud, a businessman filed an ‘attempt to murder’ case with Uttara North Police Station, claiming the suspects had tried to kill him on July 18 during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement.
