Dengue: Six die, 559 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Six dengue patients died and 559 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Saturday (Nov 19).

In the 24 hours, 320 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 239 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,552 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 1,212 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 52,161 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 49,171 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 226 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
