At least 14 dengue patients died while 2,425 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (September 30), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 751 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,674 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 989 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,00,406 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 83,222 were in Dhaka and 1, 20,184 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 1,92,458 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 79,204 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,13,254 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 3,379 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 6,580 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
