Dengue: 13 more die, 1,638 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least thirteen more dengue patients died while 1,638 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 4), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 430 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,208 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,393 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,77,801 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,00,717 were in Dhaka and 1,77,084 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,69,772 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 98,054 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 71,718 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,837 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,799 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
