10 dengue patients die, 1748 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 10 more dengue patients died while 1, 748 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 12), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 351 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,397 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,476 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,91,832 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,03,578 were in Dhaka and 1,88,254 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,84,173 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 01,127 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 83,046 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,588 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,595 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
