At least six more dengue patients died while 645 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 24), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 154 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 491 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,583 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,06,437 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,06,678 were in Dhaka and 1,99,759 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,01,006 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,04,706 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,96,300 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,050 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 2,798 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
