Bangladesh reports one Covid death, 30 cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh reported Covid-19-linked one dead and 34 fresh cases in the last 24 hours till today (January 22) morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The official data showed a total of 29,481 people in the country died due to the disease since the start of the pandemic in March of 2020.

Besides, the country's total number of coronavirus cases reached 20, 46,788.

The DGHS disclosed the update on the country’s coronavirus situation, issuing a press release this afternoon.

A total of 584 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 5.14 percent.

According to the release, the total number of recoveries till today reached 4, 23,598. 

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8, 2020, while its first death was on March 18 that year.
