Dengue: Zero death, 30 hospitalised in 24 hours

One dengue patient died, and 32 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (January 21), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, four dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 26 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 14 patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 883 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. 

Of them, 310 were in Dhaka and 573 were outside the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 718 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 257 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 462 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 46 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 105 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
