Bangladesh records 11 new dengue cases in 24-hour

Hospitals in Bangladesh have recorded 11 new cases of dengue fever in 24 hours till 8 am today (February 17), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The death toll remained unchanged with no fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in the 24-hour count to Saturday morning, said the DGHS release.

In the 24 hours, 5 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 6 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, it added.

Besides, this year, a total of 16 patients died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 1,271 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. 

Last year, a total of 1,705 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 3, 21, 179 patients were admitted in hospital.
